Michael's Faux Hawk

WELL...

Breann has been wanting to cut a faux hawk (pronounced "fo-hawk") on me for a while now. I guess that deep down I've wanted one but felt that I wasn't "cool enough" to sport one. SO...to make a long story short, I finally got her cut my hair. Here is a picture of the final product:

School

So I applied to be a Phase 2 at Paul Mitchell which is their honors program. There are 4 openings and you have to have a certain amount of hours to get in which I don't have. I don't even think I'm close but Alexis, my learning leader said I could apply anyway. So we'll see what happens. I also applied for design team and I got in, but I can't attend the events until I'm at 500 hours. I only have 350.

Phase 2: The honors program where you can take as many clients as you can handle. You get tipped more and people pay more for your services. You get to wear black AND white. You can be either part time or full time Phase 2. Full time is when you take clients all day and don't got to class. Part time is the same amount of time as before.

Design Team: they do special events outside of school related to other aspects of cosmetology besides cutting and coloring. They do hair and make up on models for fashion shows and photo shoots and stuff like that. I'd personally rather be working on models with up-dos and make up than a salon.

I'll probably run for co-captain of Design Team so I can network. I don't have enough hours to run for captain. Oh well. We'll see what happens

Elicia's Wedding

Here's a couple of pictures of Elicia's Wedding. She looked pretty and I got to do her hair. I personally think I did a pretty good job. We were a part of the ceremony the luncheon and the reception. It was nice to see Elicia so happy with
her new eternal companion.

Life is good.

Fondue's and Fondon'ts

Due's:
-Plan in advance
-Invite people you like
-Have plenty of food

Don'ts:
-Use baking chocolate
-Forget the half and half
-Hand out invitations at church because word will get around.

So next weekend we're going to have a fondue party. We're going to invite all the young couples from our ward and some non-member friends too. Finally, we're going to hang out with people. I'm really excited. Mmmm....chocolate.

Dog Park

Breann and I decided to take Woofie to the dog park today. Most days there are at least 5 other dogs there just waiting to sniff his backside and whatnot but today, when we showed up, there was not 1 single dog. After a while of chasing Woofie around and giving him treats for his good acts of behavior, a few more really cute Dachshunds and Chihuahuas arrived, just in time for a good sniffing before we were ready to leave. We always have a fun time at the off-lease dog park because it's like planning the lotto. Our dog will randomly bark at people. And you know the feeling when some random dog comes up to you and barks at you? You feel like the dog doesn't like you or you've done something "wrong?" Well, we're getting pretty good at scoping out the park and if we were the betting type, I'm 30% sure we could pick out (who he's going to bark at next) 65% of the time. Hope you like the pictures.

Kelly, Roxy, Me, and Elizabeth. We had fun. They actually came back to the hotel to party with some beer, but they were nice enough to get me a 7up. That way I didn't really feel excluded. I like that they respected my standards enough to do that. We all had fun together though....let's just say, they were very susceptible to suggestion.

This is our cute dog Woofie and we love him. I love cosmetology. I seriously feel like I was born to do this. I feel like I'm pretty good at it too. Hopefully, I'll get to be a phase 2 student soon which is the Paul Mitchell honors program. I will also get to wear white. Right now I only get to wear black.

I loved my trip to Las Vegas. My camera died the first night so I have to wait to post the picture of my group with Winn Claybaugh. I went shopping and got all black clothes for school. Then John Paul Dejoria, Winn Claybaugh, and Robert Cromeans all talked to us in a Ballroom at the Mandalay Bay hotel. It was inspiring. At the toga party Winn Claybaugh gave me a hug when I told him how great his speech was. Anyway, I had a great time and I feel like I learned a lot. Not just about cosmetology but about life.

Boredom

As you can see, I was pretty bored this morning and so I added everyone's picture to "The Others." I know that some of you look pretty weird as characters but I only had a few pictures to work with. I hope you like it.
